A "Good Goodbye"........

Last Sunday, we had a great day of celebrating Pastor Gregg, a day filled with lots of hugs, some tears, delicious cake and "snacky goodness;" beautiful art, a bag filled with cards of appreciation and a room filled with lovely, handcrafted decorations!  And most importantly, all of you, our beloved Park Avenue community, who showed up so well! Celebrating in this way, allows Pastor Gregg to know he is loved, and also that we are letting him go on to the next ministry God is calling him to.

And an anticipated "Hello"......

Sometime in the next month, we will have an interim pastor appointed to our church.  This will be an opportunity for us as a congregation to practice our strategic priority of "Welcome & Belonging."  We must do this well, too!

In the meantime......

Our amazing church staff is still here, doing their jobs to keep our church running and our ministries going.  Please take every opportunity to express your love and appreciation towards them as they gracefully and faithfully serve, picking up extra tasks and duties during this time of transition.  In addition to our staff, we want to say thank you to the many volunteers, like our volunteer choir directors, ushers, safety team, children and youth volunteers, care team, Cornerstone volunteers, building support people, etc., who are also generously serving to keep our ministries running!

And know that the leadership board continues to work with our district superintendent as we go through the process of getting an interim pastor in place, and then eventually, our new senior pastor.  We will keep you informed all along the way through these periodic Board Updates in the weekly "News from Park Avenue" emails.
