Hands and Feet
Who is Hands and Feet?Your Central neighbors who do household cleaning, organizing, yard work, & simple home repairs on a Saturday as a way to build goodwill in the community. Started by a small group of people from Park Avenue United Methodist Church in 2003, over 100 have joined in the fun. Our Mission is to serve our neighbors in the Central Community who can use an extra Hand to greater self-sufficiency. Our Objectives are to share God’s love with families and individuals of Central Community by offering humble acts of service through workday projects of home repair &/or yard maintenance. We also refer Hands and Feet familiesto other resources for help with additional unmet needs. Outcomes

What have families said?Hands and Feet helped me with things I didn’t know how to do. Having my stairs fixed really helped me and my kids. — single mom You know how when computers stop running, and they need to be rebooted? I just couldn’t get my life restarted on my own. Something was corrupted. Hands and Feet gave me hope and structure for my kids and I to restart again. — single dad I believe in cleanliness. At my age, it’s too hard to do it alone. I’m so grateful to Hands and Feet for all the help I got. — elderly woman After my husband died, I wanted a fresh start. Volunteers were nice workers, they did a good job painting, and liked my food. — new widow |
