The skipper Paul Reeth It has become an annual ritual: hardy souls shake off the winter rust, stretch their atrophied muscles, and dig out the leather: yes, finally, softball season has arrived! Since 2002, the Park Avenue men’s softball team has gathered every spring under the direction of the “skipper,” Paul Reeth. It is a chance for men to share in competition and love of the game, but also in fellowship. It is a chance to witness to others, to demonstrate Christ’s love through our words, actions, and good sportsmanship. And for the families of the players, it is a time to gather, talk, play, and maybe even watch the game. Things get rolling every February, usually around the time of the Men’s Retreat. Practices begin in April and the season runs from May through July. Games are on Thursdays at 7pm at Nokomis Field on Cedar in South Minneapolis. For more information, email info@parkavechurch.org.
