Latino Ministry
The Park Avenue Latino Ministry reaches out to Spanish speakers in the neighborhood through various activities. Spanish Worship ServiceOur Spanish worship service is offered each Sunday at noon. On the 4th Sunday of each month, remain after service for a community pot luck meal. Prayer and Fellowship in SpanishTuesday evenings at 7:00pm is a time of community gathering where our Spanish-speaking community gathers for extended prayer followed by the sharing of a meal. DiscipleshipDiscipleship Course, Mi Experiencia con Dios, April 13-July 20, 2008, 10:30 am – 11:45am. Wednesday Movie NightsWednesdays at 7:00pm we show a film for Spanish and English speakers. Special EventsCinco de Mayo 2008 -- Join us this year at our booth on Lake Street and 4th Avenue from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Prayer Vigils -- Join us for periodic all-night prayer vigils. Check the church calendar for the next vigil. Community ServiceBi-lingual Program for Families -- The bilingual program is a preschool and adult ESL program resourced by bilingual staff. Spanish speaking adults are assisted in becoming proficient in English. Children learn Spanish and English. The program operates Sept - May, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 am to noon. Legal Services - Free walk-in legal advice and brief service available in English and Spanish on Thursdays. Arrive by 3:00 pm to sign up for a free consultation. Medical Services - Free medical attention by appointment on Thursday afternoons. Clothing and Food - Good condition second-hand clothing and periodic food distribution on Wednesdays, 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Latino Worship TeamPraise and Worship Team. This group shares their instrumental and vocal talents each Sunday during the Bi-lingual worship service. Bi-lingual singers and musicians welcome.
