Podcast InformationWhat's a podcast?Podcasting is an easy new way to automatically download audio programs to your computer. You use free software to choose programs you like; the software checks the internet regularly and starts a download whenever it finds something new. You can listen to the programs you download on your computer or, better yet, you can take them with you on a portable MP3 player (iPod or similar). That means you can listen to a selection of programs any time and anywhere you like! You can learn more about podcasts at Wikipedia. Do podcasts Cost Anything?No. As long as you have a program like iTunes, downloading a podcast is free. What do I need to start receiving podcasts?Here's what you'll need: a computer (PC or Mac), an internet connection, and (free) software (called a "podcatcher" or "aggregator" ) like iTunes or Juice. How do I subscribe?First copy the web address (also known as a "URL") below: http://www.parkavechurch.org/feed.xml Now find the "subscribe" box in your podcatching software. In iTunes you'll find it under "Advanced." Simply paste the address above in the box and click "Okay." (Other podcatchers may have different methods of subscribing; be sure to follow the directions provided). Your podcatcher should automatically begin downloading the latest podcast. Now every week-or-so (you can set how frequently your podcatcher will check for new podcasts under "settings") your podcatcher will automatically check for and download the latest podcasts. Can I unsubscribe?Yep, anytime. In iTunes simply click on the podcast you want to stop receiving and click on the "unsubscribe" button. If I subscribe to a podcast will I get on a mailing list?No. You don't give out any personal information when you subscribe to a podcast.
