Park Avenue Church PurposeOur IdentityPark Avenue United Methodist Church is a vibrant multi-cultural evangelical community deeply rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We live out our commitment to Christ as we care for one another and the community through program ministries of Nurture Outreach and Witness that enable us to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Mission and VisionThe Mission of Park Avenue United Methodist Church is to “Make Disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” If we are successful in our effort to live out this mission our vision for a transformed community for Jesus Christ will be achieved. How we will reflect this is through a renewed Administrative and Program Structure. Learning     The Park Avenue United Methodist Church community will be committed to Christian Formation, education and leadership Development for all ages. How: Each time we gather we will provide devotions/ learning opportunities that will help us to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. LovingAs we grow in our love for Jesus Christ, we will grow in our love for one another and our neighbors. We will increase our efforts to share the love of Jesus through community and international outreach. How: In every gathering of the community we will consider ways to become aware of the need of this body of Christ and the broader community. We will consider how our ministries can reach out with the love of Jesus Christ. LivingAs fully engaged disciples of Jesus Christ we will affirm our commitment to our rich Evangelical and Wesleyan heritage as we live together as a racially diverse and multi-cultural community. How: Each time we gather we will continue to make space in our community to understand one another through Holy Conferencing as a standard for being together. We will continue to facilitate Congregational Engagement sessions that will focus on Theology, Inter-Cultural/ Race relations, the UM Connection and exploring the question “Who is our neighbor?”
